Summary
Lead advanced nutrition care for Veterans, developing policies and initiatives as a GS-12 Advanced Dietitian.
Join our team as an Advanced-Level Dietitian (GS-12) to deliver comprehensive, high-quality nutrition care for Veterans. This role requires leadership in multidisciplinary teams, policy development, and driving initiatives to enhance patient outcomes through advanced nutrition practices.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for Veterans using the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) within an advanced scope of practice.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in developing and implementing nutrition-related services, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Provide expert consultative services regarding advanced therapies and nutrition research.
- Develop, monitor, and direct practice-specific benchmarks aligned with national standards of care.
- Lead the implementation of new nutrition initiatives or practice changes to achieve strategic goals.
- Establish goals, measure outcomes, and report progress to medical center committees and healthcare teams.
- Lead staff development, including creating and validating competencies and developing training activities.
- Initiate and lead nutrition research studies or performance improvement projects, effectively communicating findings.
- Present current nutrition information and concepts at seminars, workshops, and lectures.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Citizenship:** United States Citizenship.
- **Language:** Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- **Registration:** Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- **Experience:** One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
- **Certification:** Hold an Advanced Practice Certification from a nationally recognized body directly related to the assignment (e.g., BC-ADM, CDCES, CSR, CSG, RDN-AP, CNSC).
- **Skills & Abilities:**
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- 3-5 years of clinical experience as a Nutrition Support Dietitian.
- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) certification.
- Ability to independently write Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) orders.
- Experience managing various enteral nutrition modalities.
