Summary
Senior financial expert needed to manage federal budget policy, analyze DoD finances, and drive efficiency for national security.
This Senior Executive Service (SES) position seeks a highly qualified leader in federal financial management. The role involves overseeing budget policy, execution, and strategic resource management within the Department of Defense (DoD).
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of budget policy and procedures for formulation, review, and analysis of DoD-wide program/budget/execution data.
- Manage reprogramming of appropriated funds.
- Advise Federal or Private Sector Financial Management leaders on alternative solutions to financial management issues.
- Analyze complex budget and financial management issues.
- Manage complex financial system reporting to ensure support for the Department's mission, program, and national security objectives.
- *Key Requirements & Qualifications:**
- *A. Technical Qualifications (TQs):**
- **TQ 1:** Demonstrated skill in applying comprehensive knowledge of budget policy and procedures, including budget formulation, DoD program/budget/execution data analysis, reprogramming appropriated funds, and advising on financial management issues.
- **TQ 2:** Demonstrated ability to analyze complex budget/financial management issues and manage complex financial system reporting to support departmental mission and national security objectives.
- *B. Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs):**
New entrants to the Senior Executive Service (SES) must demonstrate competency in the following five ECQs within their resume:
- **ECQ 1: Commitment to the Rule of Law and the Principles of the American Founding:** Understanding of the American system of government, upholding the Constitution, and serving the American people.

- **ECQ 5: Achieving Results:** Demonstrated ability to achieve individual and organizational results, translate strategies into action, innovate, and think strategically.
