Deputy Associate General Counsel For Litigation (Cmsd)

This Senior Executive Service (SES) role seeks a dedicated leader passionate about improving government efficiency and upholding the rule of law. You will lead complex litigation teams focused on significant federal programs.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Oversee and direct complex litigation, including challenges to Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA (Title I) programs.
• Manage all aspects of defensive litigation, from case evaluation and strategy to briefing, oral advocacy, settlement negotiations, and appeal recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with the Department of Justice, CMS, and OGC leadership.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing cadre of lawyers and support personnel.
• Set strategic priorities for a high-volume, complex litigation group, ensuring client needs are met.
• Direct litigation involving Administrative Procedure Act (APA) issues.
• *Qualifications:**
• *Technical Qualifications (TQs):**
• Demonstrated leadership overseeing complex litigation, particularly involving federal health programs (Medicare, Medicaid, ACA).
• Proven experience directing all facets of defensive litigation, including APA issues.
• Leadership experience in managing legal teams, setting priorities, and meeting client demands in a high-volume, complex litigation environment.
