Summary
Seeking an SES legal leader to oversee complex federal health litigation and manage high-performing legal teams.
This Senior Executive Service (SES) role seeks a dedicated leader passionate about improving government efficiency and upholding the rule of law. You will lead complex litigation teams focused on significant federal programs.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee and direct complex litigation, including challenges to Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA (Title I) programs.
- Manage all aspects of defensive litigation, from case evaluation and strategy to briefing, oral advocacy, settlement negotiations, and appeal recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with the Department of Justice, CMS, and OGC leadership.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing cadre of lawyers and support personnel.
- Set strategic priorities for a high-volume, complex litigation group, ensuring client needs are met.
- Direct litigation involving Administrative Procedure Act (APA) issues.
- *Qualifications:**
- *Technical Qualifications (TQs):**
- Demonstrated leadership overseeing complex litigation, particularly involving federal health programs (Medicare, Medicaid, ACA).
- Proven experience directing all facets of defensive litigation, including APA issues.
- Leadership experience in managing legal teams, setting priorities, and meeting client demands in a high-volume, complex litigation environment.
- *Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs):**
- **Commitment to Rule of Law:** Demonstrated knowledge of the American system of government, commitment to the Constitution, and public service.
- **Driving Efficiency:** Proven ability to strategically manage resources, budget effectively, and implement efficiency improvements.
