Data Scientist (AI/Risk)

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist (Artificial Intelligence Risk) to contribute to our critical AI programs. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and overseeing ethical AI practices, governance, and risk management across the agency.

• *Responsibilities:**
• Develop and implement robust methods for responsible AI ethics reporting, ensuring strict adherence to ethical AI principles.
• Extract and interpret findings from varied structured and unstructured data sets related to AI program execution.
• Provide oversight, advice, and recommendations for designing and implementing responsible AI adoption strategies.
• Measure, report, and communicate AI adoption results and strategies effectively to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with the AI Office (AIO) on AI implementation activities, ensuring compliance with AI governance, ethics, risk management, and inventory requirements.
• Recommend significant strategic program and policy issues, managing all Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) to ensure synchronized and timely implementation.
• *Requirements:**
• **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field.
• **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level (or comparable experience in the private sector) directly related to the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes expertise in AI risk, ethics, governance, and data interpretation.
• **Note:** Education alone cannot substitute for specialized experience for this role.
• **Combination:** A combination of education and experience equivalent to the requirements above may be considered.
