Summary
Creative Producer to manage and develop integrated, cross-platform editorial content for National Geographic's storytelling initiatives.
National Geographic seeks a Creative Producer for its Integrated Storytelling team. This hybrid role combines operational project management with creative concept development for ambitious, cross-platform editorial initiatives, driving compelling content across the brand.
- *Responsibilities:**
- Project manage complex integrated storytelling initiatives, including developing timelines, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with editorial teams (photo, text, video, digital, social) to develop creative concepts for multi-platform content (web, print, newsletters, YouTube, social media).
- Serve as the primary editorial point of contact for select projects, ensuring timely, on-budget completion while upholding brand standards.
- Establish and streamline project management workflows and databases, facilitating cross-team communication and identifying collaboration opportunities.
- Liaise with internal National Geographic stakeholders (TV/film, books, marketing, travel, National Geographic Society) to foster partnerships and represent editorial perspectives.
- Create visually compelling presentation decks to showcase editorial concepts for internal leadership and partners.
- *Requirements:**
- 3+ years of professional experience in a media organization, ideally in a production support role across digital, social, print, or TV products.
- Excellent project/production management, organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Airtable) and experience streamlining operational processes.
- Proven ability to develop compelling creative content, collaborating effectively across various disciplines (text, photography, video).
- Working knowledge of creative deliverables and production workflows for web, social media, print, and/or television.
- Fluency in creating dynamic presentations using software like Keynote or PowerPoint.
- Exceptional interpersonal, diplomatic, and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and experts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media, or a related field.
- Ability to work 4 days/week (Mon-Thurs) in the Washington D.C. office, with remote flexibility on Fridays.
- *Salary Range:** $79,400 - $106,400 per year (Washington D.C.).
