Summary
Seeking an experienced Acquisition/Contracting Specialist to manage contract lifecycles, apply regulations, and develop strategic procurement plans.
## Acquisition/Contracting Specialist
- *Minimum Qualifications:**
Candidates must meet one of the following basic requirements:
- **A.** A 4-year bachelor's degree in any field.
- **B.** At least 24 semester hours across fields such as accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
- Note: Applicants with Superior Academic Achievement may qualify for GS-7. Specific pathways exist for current federal GS-1102 employees.*
- *Specialized Experience (GS-12 Level):**
Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, demonstrating ability to:
- Research and analyze contracting legislation, regulations, policies, and methods (e.g., Federal Acquisition Regulation).
- Apply contracting principles and procedures for pre-award and/or post-award requirements to procure and administer contracts.
- Apply acquisition, contract, and procurement regulations to prepare solicitations.
- Evaluate contract cost/price elements and provide recommendations on contractual issues to senior management.
- *Specialized Experience (GS-13 Level):**
Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, performing *all* of the following:
- Develop strategic plans to define acquisition requirements.
- Determine optimal contracting methods to meet program, policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Review justifications and required clearances for compliance with governing regulations and policy.
