Contract Specialist

This role involves managing the full lifecycle of pre-award and post-award contracting functions for a diverse range of services, supplies, equipment, and construction projects within the federal government.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Perform comprehensive pre-award and post-award contracting duties.
• For higher-level positions (GS-13+), responsibilities include formulating policies, developing and presenting contract terms, negotiating and awarding contracts, administering contract terms, and analyzing proposed prices/costs.
• *Qualifications:**
• *Education:**
• Bachelor's degree in any field or 24 semester hours in a combination of accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
• *Certifications:**
• Mandatory: FAC-C (Professional), DoD Contracting Professional, FAC-C Level I, or DAWIA (Contracting) Level I or higher certification. (Proof required with application).
• *Experience:**
• **For GS-12**: Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-11 level in federal service, performing a full range of pre-award and post-award functions.
• **For GS-13 and above**: At least four years of contracting-related work, with one year equivalent to a GS-12 level performing the full range of pre-award and post-award functions, including policy formulation, negotiation, contract administration, and price/cost analysis. Completion of all mandatory agency training for GS-13+ contracting positions is also required.
• *Additional Requirements:**
• Resume limited to 5 pages.
• Ability to perform some physical exertion, such as walking on uneven surfaces for site visits and conduct intensive, extended negotiations.
