Summary
Manages federal contracts and acquisitions, requiring specialized experience or advanced education in contract management.
Join our team as a Contract Specialist, responsible for managing federal acquisition processes for a variety of needs. This role involves complex contracting duties within the 1102 series, specifically targeting the GS-11 level.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Procure and administer contracts and orders for supplies, services, equipment, and construction.
- Conduct market analyses to support acquisition planning.
- Prepare, evaluate, and award Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Invitation for Bids (IFBs), and Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
- Determine and apply appropriate simplified acquisition and contracting methods.
- *Required Qualifications (GS-11):**
- *Education:**
- Successful completion of a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any field; or
- At least 24 semester hours in relevant fields such as accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
- *Experience/Graduate Education (Choose ONE):**
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 federal level, performing duties such as procuring and administering contracts, conducting market analyses, evaluating proposals, and determining acquisition methods.
- Three full academic years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher-level graduate education or a Ph.D./equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a field related to the position.
- An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education (only graduate education in excess of 36 semester hours will be credited).
- *Certification:**
- Ability to obtain Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Professional certification within 36 months of entry on duty (required for GS-5 through GS-12).
- *For Current/Former Federal Employees:**
- Must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09 level (or equivalent) by the announcement closing date.
- Submit a copy of your SF-50 Form showing competitive service appointment, tenure group, grade, and salary.
- *Additional Information:**
- Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
- Work is primarily sedentary with occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Work environment is office-based with potential for occasional site visits and some travel for training or negotiations.
- *Required Documents:**
- Official or unofficial college transcript(s) detailing completed semester/quarter hours.
- SF-50 Form(s) if current or former federal employee.
