Summary
Content Strategist drives SEO-optimized content creation and strategy for Appily.com, guiding students through college choices.
Join EAB's Appily Student Marketing team as a Content Strategist, helping high school students make confident college choices. You will drive content development from planning to publication, ensuring Appily's blog, website, and tools are informative, engaging, and optimized for search performance. This role requires creativity, editorial excellence, strong project management, and a growth mindset.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Write and edit original, engaging content (blog posts, guides, web pages) for students and parents, maintaining brand voice.
- Manage the editorial calendar and coordinate with freelance writers.
- Conduct keyword research and optimize new/existing content for on-page SEO, including metadata and internal linking.
- Upload, QA, and publish content efficiently within the CMS (Drupal).
- Monitor traffic and engagement metrics (Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush) to inform content updates.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and SEO stakeholders to identify content opportunities.
- Stay current with SEO/GEO, content, and marketing best practices.
- *Qualifications:**
- 2-3+ years experience in content writing, SEO copywriting, or digital marketing.
- Strong portfolio of digital content, especially for student or education audiences.
- Proficiency in SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs).
- Hands-on experience with CMS platforms (e.g., Drupal, WordPress).
- Understanding of basic web publishing best practices, including accessibility and formatting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with teams and freelancers.
- *Preferred:* Experience in college access, enrollment marketing, edtech, or working with youth.
- *Location:** Richmond, VA or Washington, D.C.
- *Compensation:** Anticipated salary range $55,000 - $67,500 annually, plus potential discretionary bonus.
