The Aspen Institute's Energy & Environment Program (EEP) seeks a temporary Content Coordinator to support Aspen Ideas: Climate Chicago, a major public event focused on climate change. This role is crucial for managing speaker content and logistics, ensuring a smooth experience for participants.

  • *About the Role:**
As a Content Coordinator, you will manage a portfolio of speakers, overseeing invitations, travel, and logistical coordination for Aspen Ideas: Climate Chicago, taking place July 20-22, 2026. You will work closely with speaker management and event staff to facilitate session development and maintain critical speaker information.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Manage speaker portfolios, including invitations, travel, and logistical arrangements.
  • Collaborate with track leads to develop session ideas into actionable programs.
  • Conduct speaker research and maintain a comprehensive database of contact and background information.
  • Provide support for content development and partner management activities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing programmatic development of Aspen Ideas: Climate.
  • Assist with other event and EEP-related projects as they arise.
  • *What You'll Bring:**
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of 2+ years of relevant work experience in event planning.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, and strong attention to detail.
  • A keen ability to optimize processes, workflows, and information tracking.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a proactive, collaborative attitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Google Docs, and Outlook. Familiarity with Cvent and ArtsVision is a plus.
  • Intellectual curiosity regarding energy and environmental topics is beneficial.
  • *Important Details:**
  • **Location:** Candidates must be located in Chicago, IL, or Washington, DC (or surrounding areas).
  • **Travel:** Required travel to Chicago for the event in July 2026.
  • **Work Schedule:** This is a temporary position, expected to run from approximately February 2026 to August 2026. A hybrid work model (minimum 40% in-person engagement) is in place, with flexibility for remote work. Long hours and weekend work are expected during June and July leading up to and during the event.
  • **Salary:** $52,000 - $54,000.
