Job Description

Summary

Manage federal construction, renovation, and infrastructure projects, overseeing contracts, mitigating risks, and recommending design improvements.

Join our team to manage and oversee significant construction and facility projects, ensuring successful execution and compliance. We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in federal construction management.

  • *Responsibilities:**
  • Manage and monitor major construction, renovation, infrastructure, and building upgrade contracts.
  • Oversee repairs, replacements, and restoration of buildings and facilities for complex projects.
  • Serve as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) or equivalent on assigned construction and/or consultant contracts.
  • Collaborate with project managers, consultants, and stakeholders to determine and mitigate project risks.
  • Recommend design improvements and efficiencies to enhance operations and reduce contract changes.
  • *Requirements:**
  • Must meet United States OPM qualification requirements for a GS-13 position.
  • Possess at least 52 weeks (one year) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal service.
  • Demonstrated specialized experience in at least three of the following areas:
* Managing repairs, replacement, and restoration for major construction projects. * Overseeing new construction, renovations, infrastructure, and building upgrade contracts. * Serving as a COTR or equivalent on construction/consultant contracts. * Working with stakeholders on risk mitigation planning for construction projects. * Recommending design improvements and efficiencies to enhance operations.

The Architect of the Capitol is the federal agency responsible for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the United States Capitol Complex. It is an agency of the legislative branch of the federal government and is accountable to the United States Congress and the Supreme Court. Both the agency and the head of the agency are called "Architect of the Capitol". The head of the agency is appointed by a vote of a congressional commission for a ten-year term. Prior to 2024, the president of the United States appointed the architect upon confirmation vote by the United States Senate, and was accountable to the president.
