## Communications Specialist

  • *Location:** Arlington, VA (On-site)
Vistra is seeking a dedicated Communications Specialist to manage day-to-day communication activities for the Commandant of the Marine Corps, Safety Division (CMC-SD). This vital role supports the Marine Corps' mission by enhancing war-fighting capability through force preservation, risk management, and mishap prevention, fostering a robust culture of safety.

Working in coordination with our team at Naval Safety Command (NAVSAFECOM), this position will also serve as the Client Site Lead, ensuring effective communication strategies and client satisfaction.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications, marketing, and safety promotion strategies for USMC operational and off-duty safety programs.
  • Create and produce promotional and informational materials across various mediums, including print, electronic, web, and social media.
  • Manage and update web content on SharePoint and public websites, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, functionality, and adherence to Marine Corps guidelines.
  • Administer and maintain CMC-SD social media pages (e.g., Facebook, X, Instagram) to support safety initiatives.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for meetings, conferences, and safety activities, including preparing briefings, handouts, and presentations.
  • Draft and revise articles on USMC and safety-related topics.
  • Coordinate the dissemination of safety programs and initiatives, ensuring relevant Marine Corps information within joint communication plans.
  • Extract data to develop charts, graphs, and other promotional content.
  • Establish and implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures for all work, ensuring compliance with DOD/DON requirements.
  • Serve as the Client Site Lead, managing projects, coordinating work execution, and interfacing with clients and Vistra HQ.
### Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience in a relevant field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience developing comprehensive communications strategies, including social media content creation.
  • Prior experience working with the Marine Corps.
  • Strong written, oral communication, and design skills.
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, or similar design tools.
  • Experience with DOD SharePoint administration.
  • Proven ability to create and implement targeted messaging campaigns for diverse audiences, with experience in tracking effectiveness.
  • Experience implementing communications and outreach projects compliant with DOD and DON requirements.
  • Experience manipulating content and messaging across multiple mediums.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining web material, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, functionality, navigability, usability, and accessibility.
  • **Must possess a Secret Clearance.**
  • **US Citizenship is required** due to the requirements of the federal contract this position supports.
