Job Description
Summary
Manage executive correspondence and provide program analysis for DOE/NNSA Defense Programs, requiring an active Top Secret/Q security clearance.
Leidos is seeking a **Communications Specialist & Program Analyst** to support the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) Office of Defense Programs (NA-10).
- *A strict requirement for this role is an active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret security clearance (must be briefed and currently hold a position requiring this clearance).**
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage, edit, and distribute all executive correspondence, including congressional reports, inquiries, letters, and remarks.
- Facilitate executive review and signature processes for policy papers, joint reports, and decision documents for senior NNSA/DOE leadership.
- Assist program offices in developing and reviewing materials such as briefings, remarks, and talking points for senior staff.
- Develop clear, concise written products and enhance standard operating procedures for communications.
- Provide website and document management support for the Nuclear Weapons Council (NWC) staff.
- Monitor incoming correspondence, assign tasks, track progress, and provide content guidance.
- Review drafted replies for clarity, consistency, and recommend revisions.
- Manage and track Defense Programs communications and coordinate across agencies.
- Support congressional, intergovernmental, and public affairs activities, including managing responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Control classified documents, manage classified materials, property, electronic media, and serve as a vault custodian; assist with records management.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret security clearance.**
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related work experience.
- Experience supporting federal government programs (e.g., DHS, DOE, DoD).
- Excellent copy-editing, proofreading, and written communication skills.
- Self-starter attitude with strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to track, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- *Desired Qualifications:**
- Master’s degree.
- Experience supporting DOE or NNSA programs, with an understanding of the Nuclear Security Enterprise.
- Experience interacting with senior-level government officials and Executive Secretariats.
- Experience coordinating with senior-level program managers.
