Communications Manager - Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation

The Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation at Georgetown University seeks a Communications Manager to advance our mission of equitable societal change through data, design, technology, and policy. This role is crucial for amplifying our work in digital government, data, benefits access, and emerging technology. **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop and execute integrated communication strategies. * Translate complex, technical information into accessible, compelling, human-centered narratives. * Create diverse content for various platforms (digital, social, media). * Manage media relations, stakeholder engagement, and external communications. * Ensure clear, consistent, and impactful messaging across all initiatives. * Collaborate proactively with internal teams and external contractors (designers, web developers, PR). **Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in communications, journalism, public affairs, or a related field (or equivalent). * Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a strong sense of voice, tone, and audience. * Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and stakeholders in a fast-moving, collaborative environment. * Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and strong sense of initiative. * A systems thinker who can bring structure to ambiguity. **Preferred Tools & Platforms Familiarity:** * **Content & Editorial:** Google Workspace, AP Style * **Project Management:** Airtable, Asana, Slack, Miro * **Email & Web:** Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Analytics / GA4 * **Social & Media:** LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, Bluesky, Sprout Social/Hootsuite, Meltwater, Cision * **Design & Creative:** Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign), Figma **Work Model:** This is a **Hybrid** position, requiring an average of 2 days per week on-site in Washington, D.C., primarily at the Capitol Campus office and periodically at the Hilltop Campus.
