Summary
Support National Wildlife Federation's communications and advocacy efforts through writing, media tracking, and campaign material development.
Join the National Wildlife Federation as an 11-month Communications Fellow, supporting our mission to unite Americans for wildlife conservation. This hybrid position is based in Washington, D.C., offering $23.00 per hour plus core benefits.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Write and develop various communication materials: press releases, media advisories, op-eds, blog posts, social media toolkits.
- Support marketing and campaign materials across departments, including creating factsheets and infographics.
- Compile media placement tracking reports, clips, and other analytics.
- Assist in creating and editing media lists for campaign planning.
- Post and edit press releases on the National Wildlife Federation’s website.
- Track media appearances and update the naturalist webpage for National Wildlife Federation’s Naturalist, David Mizejewski.
- Perform administrative duties, such as managing team reports, taking meeting notes, and assisting with office tasks.
- *Qualifications:**
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong editing skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility.
- Commitment to professional growth and developing equity and justice competencies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams with minimal supervision, meeting deadlines.
- Good multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with lists and databases is a plus.
- Spanish fluency is a bonus.
