Summary

Manage communications and outreach strategies to promote MEI's policy work and enhance engagement within the US policymaking community.

  • *About the Role:**
The Middle East Institute (MEI) seeks a proactive Communications and Outreach Manager to strategically promote its policy and cultural work, strengthening engagement with the policymaking community, including Congress, the Executive Branch, and foreign embassies. This role is crucial for expanding MEI's visibility, broadening its network, and enhancing its ability to reach wider, diverse audiences.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Strengthen engagement and identify opportunities within Washington’s policy networks.
  • Develop and produce compelling outreach materials, including print and web content.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with foreign embassies, NGOs, and partner organizations.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to promote policy-focused content and flagship events.
  • Oversee the end-to-end development and production of MEI’s Annual Report.
  • Ensure cohesive themes and consistent messaging across all events and initiatives.
  • Maintain targeted distribution lists and research potential partnership opportunities.
  • Coordinate messaging and outreach efforts for public-facing programs.
  • Track and analyze engagement metrics, produce quarterly impact reports, and support A/B testing initiatives.
  • Provide comprehensive support for overall communications, outreach, and events initiatives.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in international affairs, political science, Middle East studies, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of professional experience, specifically with Capitol Hill, the Executive Branch, or US policy-oriented NGOs.
  • Strong, demonstrated knowledge of the US policy process.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Willingness to work in-person with flexibility for irregular hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
  • **Preferred:** Proficiency in Salesforce and knowledge of the Middle East.
