Summary

Manage ArtStream's communications, digital marketing, and outreach, promoting performing arts programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

ArtStream, Inc. is seeking a full-time Communications and Outreach Manager to advance our mission of providing performing arts opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the DMV area. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial nonprofit environment during a period of growth and innovation.

As the Communications and Outreach Manager, you will manage ArtStream's digital presence, create compelling marketing content, coordinate outreach efforts, and support fundraising and program promotion. This hybrid position requires some in-person meetings, event attendance outside normal hours, and local travel.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • **Brand & Communications:** Ensure consistent brand representation and messaging across all platforms. Create and manage marketing materials (Canva) for programs, performances, and fundraising. Write and distribute newsletters, press releases, and promotional content. Maintain and update the organization's WordPress website.
  • **Digital Marketing & Social Media:** Manage and grow ArtStream's social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) with high-quality content. Develop and execute content calendars and targeted campaigns. Design and send email marketing campaigns (Mailchimp) for events and fundraising. Track and report on digital performance metrics.
  • **Outreach & Community Engagement:** Coordinate and attend outreach events, fairs, and performances to promote programs and recruit participants, volunteers, and supporters. Build and maintain relationships with community partners and local media. Recruit, train, and coordinate outreach volunteers.
  • **Development & Program Support:** Collaborate with the Director of Development on communications for fundraising campaigns (e.g., Giving Tuesday, annual gala). Work with the Associate Artistic Director to create promotional materials for classes and performances. Maintain media archives including photos, videos, and participant stories.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or community outreach.
  • Proficiency in Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress, and Google Workspace.
  • Strong social media management skills (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Ability to create structure, manage processes, meet deadlines, and multitask effectively.
  • A passion for serving individuals with IDD and commitment to ArtStream's mission.
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to attend events, set up/break down materials, and pass a criminal background check.
  • *Compensation & Benefits:**
  • Salary: $57,000 - $60,000 annually.
