Communications And Outreach Manager

Leidos is seeking a **Communications and Outreach Manager** to lead strategies for emerging transportation technologies. Based full-time at the customer site in McLean, VA, you will shape the future of intelligent transportation systems and automated vehicle technologies by transforming research into national deployment, working closely with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies, moving research to national deployment.
• Create branding for emerging transportation technologies to drive industry recognition and adoption.
• Establish metrics and data to quantify technology benefits, supporting industry persuasion for adoption.
• Manage multiple communications projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and deliverables.
• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of marketing and communications professionals.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships to enhance outreach and ensure consistent communication.
• Oversee the production of diverse communications materials including presentations, web content, social media, and reports.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive conference strategy, managing all logistics from booth design to keynote planning.
• Support business development through proposals, client relationship development, and project budgeting.
• *Required Qualifications:**
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years, or Master’s with 6+ years, in communications and outreach.
• Proven experience in staff development, professional growth, and operational success.
• Demonstrated project management expertise, overseeing multiple activities and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Ability to develop and implement scaled solutions within time and budget constraints.
• Successful collaboration with technical teams, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a track record of influencing diverse audiences.
• Strong desire to learn, adapt, and apply feedback for performance enhancement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (requires 3 consecutive years of U.S. residence).
• *Desired Qualifications:**
• Experience with federal, state, or local government clients.
• Understanding of the transportation industry, automated vehicle technologies, or intelligent transportation systems (e.g., AI).
• Knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools.
• Advanced knowledge of branding and audience engagement best practices.
• Expertise in creating accessible content and Section 508 compliance.

• Anticipated salary range: $120,000 - $155,000.
