Join our team as a Psychologist, providing vital mental health services and contributing to patient well-being across various levels of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply a wide range of professional psychological treatments and assessment methods. Design and implement effective treatment strategies, incorporating new clinical procedures. Provide professional advice and consultation in areas of psychology and behavioral health. Conduct or contribute to clinical research projects and related tasks (for roles with specified research duties).

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. English Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English.

Education:

Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited graduate program, with a specialty consistent with the assignment. Alternatively: Doctoral degree awarded between 1951-1978 from a regionally-accredited institution, with a dissertation primarily psychological in nature.

Internship:

Successful completion of a professional psychology internship training program accredited by APA or CPA, consistent with the assignment. Acceptable Alternatives include: VHA programs applying for APA accreditation (sanctioned by VHA Central Office); pre-1979 VHA one-year pre-doctoral internships; or current board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) for non-APA/CPA accredited internships.

Licensure:

Holds a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

Experience Requirements by Grade Level:

GS-11 (Entry Level):

No post-doctoral experience required beyond the basic qualifications.

GS-12 (Developmental Level):

At least one year of post-doctoral professional psychology experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Apply a wide range of professional psychological treatments/assessment methods to various patient populations. Design and implement effective treatment strategies. Incorporate new clinical procedures. Conduct or perform basic research tasks (if research job duties are specified).

GS-13 (Full Performance Level):

At least two years of post-doctoral professional psychology experience, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-12 level. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Apply professional psychological treatments to the full range of patient populations. Provide professional advice and consultation in psychology and behavioral health. Knowledge of clinical research literature.
