Summary
Skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist needed to perform complex infectious disease analyses and maintain lab quality standards.
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Laboratory Scientist with expertise in infectious disease testing. This role involves performing advanced diagnostic analyses, ensuring laboratory quality, and maintaining critical equipment.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform highly technical infectious disease analyses (Bacteriology, Serology, Molecular Diagnostics, Virology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology, Parasitology) within a specialized microbiology laboratory.
- Set up and meticulously monitor quality controls for laboratory tests.
- Troubleshoot and perform essential maintenance on testing instruments.
- Execute proficiency testing to maintain national accreditation standards.
- *Qualifications:**
- *1. Basic Requirements (Meet ONE of the following):**
- **Option A:** Bachelor's or graduate degree with coursework in biological science, chemistry, and mathematics, PLUS successful completion of a NAACLS-accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist program.
- **Option B:** A full 4-year course of study including 12 months in a college or hospital-based medical technology program approved by a recognized accrediting body.
- **Option C:** Bachelor's or graduate degree (including 16 semester hours Biological Science (one in microbiology), 16 semester hours Chemistry (one in organic/biochemistry), and one semester Mathematics) and five years of full-time clinical laboratory experience across Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids. This experience must be equivalent to the knowledge gained in Options A or B.

Specialized Qualifications (In addition to Basic, meet ONE of the following):**
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience performing highly technical infectious disease analyses (as described in Key Responsibilities), including quality control, instrument maintenance, and proficiency testing within a Microbiology/Infectious Disease Laboratory.
- **Education:** A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a relevant field such as Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
- **Combination:** An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education.
- *Additional Notes:**
- US Citizenship is required.
- Transcripts are necessary if qualifying based on education. Volunteer experience counts towards qualifications.
- *Preferred Certification:**
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/CLS) from ASCP, AMT, or a comparable board/registry.
