Summary
Seeking a certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform complex lab procedures, evaluate results, and ensure quality control across various disciplines.
Join our team as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, responsible for performing and evaluating complex laboratory procedures to ensure accurate diagnostic results.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform complex laboratory procedures across various disciplines.
- Accurately evaluate and interpret test results.
- Oversee quality control and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Contribute to areas such as Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids.
- *Qualifications (Choose one of the following Education & Experience paths, plus Specialized Experience):**
- *Path 1 (Education & Accredited Program):**
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in biological science, chemistry, and mathematics.
- Successful completion of a NAACLS-accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/CLS) program.
- *Path 2 (Approved Medical Technology Program):**
- At least a 4-year course of study, including 12 months in a college or hospital-based medical technology program approved by a recognized accrediting organization.
- *Path 3 (Education & Extensive Clinical Experience):**
- Bachelor's or graduate degree including 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of biological science (with one semester in microbiology), 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) of chemistry (with one semester in organic or biochemistry), and one semester (one quarter) of mathematics.
- Five years of full-time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids.
- *Specialized Experience (In addition to one of the above paths):**
- One year of specialized experience performing complex laboratory procedures, evaluating test results for accuracy, or overseeing quality control on laboratory equipment.
- **or** Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Physiology, Molecular Biology, Pathology).
- **or** A combination of qualifying education and specialized experience.
- *Required Certification:**
- Current and active certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/CLS) from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT), or a comparable nationally recognized credentialing agency.
