Summary

Lead as a Senior Executive Engineer, overseeing the design and lifecycle management of Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile systems.

Seeking a Senior Executive Service (SES) leader for a critical Professional Engineering (0801) role. This position demands a commitment to government efficiency, the rule of law, and the American Republic, focusing on strategic leadership within submarine-launched ballistic missile systems.

  • *Key Responsibilities & Requirements:**
  • **Technical Leadership:** Apply expert knowledge to the design, development, acquisition, and full life cycle support of submarine-launched ballistic missile systems, including missiles, nuclear weapons, launcher, fire control, guidance, and navigation.
  • **System Expertise:** Demonstrate profound understanding of advanced technologies essential to these systems, such as digital architectures, electronics, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, and ship installation/acceptance processes.
  • **Strategic Management:** Drive efficiency, manage resources effectively, budget wisely, and implement technological and process improvements.
  • **Team Leadership:** Lead and inspire high-performing teams, fostering accountability to achieve organizational goals.
  • **Results Orientation:** Consistently deliver exceptional individual and organizational results aligned with strategic objectives.
  • *Application Requirements:**

  • **Technical Qualifications (TQs):**
1. **SLBM System Expertise:** Expert knowledge and experience in the design, development, acquisition, and life cycle support of submarine-launched ballistic missile systems (missiles, nuclear weapons, launcher, fire control, guidance, navigation). 2. **SLBM Technology Knowledge:** Expert knowledge of technologies vital to SLBM systems, including digital systems, computing architectures, electronics, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, and ship installation/acceptance processes.
  • **Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs):** (Required for new SES career appointments; demonstrate on resume)
1. **Commitment to Founding Principles:** Knowledge of the American government system, commitment to the Constitution and rule of law, and service to the American people. 2. **Driving Efficiency:** Proven ability to strategically manage resources, budget, cut waste, and improve processes/technology. 3. **Merit and Competence:** Demonstrated ability and technical competence to consistently produce high-quality work. 4. **Leading People:** Ability to lead, inspire, and foster a high-performance, high-accountability culture. 5. **Achieving Results:** Ability to achieve individual and organizational results, aligning with strategic goals.
  • **ECQ Waiver:** If you are a current SES member, have OPM-approved SES Candidate Development Program certification, or SES reinstatement eligibility, provide proof of eligibility instead of addressing ECQs.
  • **Experience:** Both paid and unpaid/volunteer experience are considered valid.
