Job Description
Summary
Lead federal initiatives, manage teams, and drive policy, budget, and program efficiency in a Senior Executive Service role.
We are seeking highly committed and skilled leaders for a Senior Executive Service (SES) position within the Federal government. This role focuses on enhancing government efficiency, upholding the rule of law, and driving critical policy and program initiatives.
- *Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas:**
- Lead and manage professional teams, fostering a high-performance culture to achieve timely and effective results.
- Conduct senior-level budget, program, and policy analysis, utilizing quantitative techniques.
- Represent agency policies and positions effectively, negotiating differences to mutually acceptable outcomes.
- Communicate concisely and effectively with senior policy officials, both orally and in writing, often under short deadlines.
- Strategically manage resources, budget effectively, cut wasteful spending, and pursue efficiency through process and technological upgrades.
- Uphold the U.S. Constitution, the rule of law, and the principles of the American founding.
- Achieve both individual and organizational results, aligning them with stated goals.
- *Technical Qualifications (TQs):**
- Senior-level experience in budget, program, and policy analysis, with quantitative expertise.
- Proven ability to lead teams and/or manage professional staff to achieve high-quality results.
- Demonstrated skill in representing agency policies and negotiating effectively.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills for senior policy officials.
- Knowledge of natural resources, public land management, wildlife, energy development, tribal policies, and related budget, program, management, and IT issues.
- *Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) - Required for New SES Entrants:**
- **Commitment to the Rule of Law and American Founding Principles:** Knowledge of the American government system, commitment to the Constitution, and serving the American people.
- **Driving Efficiency:** Ability to strategically manage resources, budget, reduce waste, and improve processes/technology.
- **Merit and Competence:** Demonstrated ability to produce exceptional, reliable, and high-quality work.
- **Leading People:** Ability to inspire and lead teams toward organizational vision, mission, and goals, fostering a high-performance, high-accountability culture.
- **Achieving Results:** Proven ability to achieve individual and organizational results aligned with strategic goals.
