Lead projects and ensure compliance for hazardous materials and fuel chemistry, applying environmental regulations at a GS-13 level.
Job Title: Chemist (GS-13)
This role requires a highly experienced Chemist to manage complex projects and ensure compliance with environmental regulations concerning hazardous materials and fuel chemistry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply Federal, State, and local environmental laws for hazardous material management.
- Analyze items for compliance, document results, and implement solutions.
- Lead long-term projects on petroleum and alternate fuel chemistry, specifications, measurement, storage, and handling.
- Resolve conflicts between technical requirements, environmental concerns, and logistical challenges.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level (Federal, military, or private sector).
- Experience should include interpreting environmental regulations, analyzing compliance, managing fuel chemistry projects, and resolving technical conflicts.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Degree must include:
- Note: Official transcripts are required. All relevant experience, including volunteer work, is considered.
