Summary

Federal GS-13 Budget Analyst sought to provide expert advisory on budgetary policies, financial analysis, and program compliance.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Serve as a principal advisor on federal budgetary matters, policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Apply financial principles and regulations to evaluate data and prepare diverse financial reports.
  • Communicate financial management and budgeting findings, along with recommendations, to top management officials.
  • Conduct reviews and audits of financial programs to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Create charts, graphs, and reports using various financial analytics tools.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • Meet U.S. Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements for a GS-13 position.
  • Possess at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in federal service.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying federal budget policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Proven ability to conduct financial program reviews and audits.
  • Proficiency in financial data analysis and reporting.

Both the agency and the head of the agency are called "Architect of the Capitol". The head of the agency is appointed by a vote of a congressional commission for a ten-year term. Prior to 2024, the president of the United States appointed the architect upon confirmation vote by the United States Senate, and was accountable to the president.
