Seeking a Business Development Associate to capture new defense and international orders for advanced aerospace systems.
AeroVironment is a global leader in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and tactical missile systems, innovating for over 45 years. Join our team developing next-generation aerospace solutions for defense and allied military services.
We are seeking a Business Development Associate to join our APAC Business Development team. Reporting to the Sr. Director, you will be instrumental in capturing new and follow-on orders, building strong customer relationships, and expanding our market presence in the aerospace and defense sector.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Cultivate and strengthen customer relationships to identify new business leads.
- Collaborate with customers to understand Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and position AeroVironment's products as optimal solutions.
- Develop, execute, and manage comprehensive capture plans to secure new and follow-on business opportunities.
- Conduct thorough market analysis and competitive assessments, providing insights for strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Support Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and three-year strategy development.
- Identify and engage key stakeholders across legislative, defense, and executive branches.
- Resolve complex business issues and contribute to diverse problem-solving initiatives.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of direct experience in business development.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with Department of Defense (DoD) customers.
- Prior experience engaging with international governments and defense organizations.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), or asylee/refugee status is required for ITAR compliance.
- *Desired Skills & Competencies:**
- Familiarity with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or defense technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong business development acumen, coupled with an understanding of acquisition and program planning processes.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, strategic planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Secret security clearance is preferred.
- *Additional Information:**
- This role requires occasional domestic and international travel.
- The salary range for this position is $43,000 - $61,000, dependent on experience, education, and skills.
