Summary
Direct and operate live/recorded broadcast productions for the U.S. Senate, requiring A/V expertise and flexible on-site availability.
We are seeking a skilled Audio/Video Broadcast Production Specialist to direct and operate live and recorded productions, primarily supporting the U.S. Senate. This role requires technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and a flexible commitment to work schedules.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Direct and/or technically direct live and recorded broadcast productions.
- Set up and operate various audio and video production equipment.
- Coordinate production requirements and manage schedules to meet deadlines.
- Proficiently use character generators for live broadcasts.
- Participate in Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning, drills, and training.
- Stay updated on industry trends, editing techniques, and software advancements.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and the public.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** 1-3 years in audio/video broadcast, recording, or graphic design.

- *Working Conditions:**
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing less than 50 pounds.
- On-site presence is required to support the U.S. Senate when in session, including during government shutdowns, inclement weather, holidays, and extended hours (late night, overnight, weekends).
- Must be able to report on-site within 2 hours for emergencies.
- This position is considered 'excepted' during government furloughs.
