We are seeking a skilled Audio/Video Broadcast Production Specialist to direct and operate live and recorded productions, primarily supporting the U.S. Senate. This role requires technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and a flexible commitment to work schedules.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Direct and/or technically direct live and recorded broadcast productions.
• Set up and operate various audio and video production equipment.
• Coordinate production requirements and manage schedules to meet deadlines.
• Proficiently use character generators for live broadcasts.
• Participate in Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning, drills, and training.
• Stay updated on industry trends, editing techniques, and software advancements.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and the public.
• *Required Qualifications:**
• **Experience:** 1-3 years in audio/video broadcast, recording, or graphic design.
• **Technical Skills & Knowledge:**

* Proficiency in operating and maintaining broadcast equipment. * Strong understanding of pre- and post-production techniques for live and recorded television. * Ability to set up and operate video teleconferencing (VTC) software for live productions. * Knowledge of safety precautions in broadcast and recording studio environments.

• **Soft Skills:**

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. * Excellent communication, tact, and diplomacy. * Strong organizational skills to coordinate and schedule diverse productions.

• *Working Conditions:**
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing less than 50 pounds.
• On-site presence is required to support the U.S. Senate when in session, including during government shutdowns, inclement weather, holidays, and extended hours (late night, overnight, weekends).
• Must be able to report on-site within 2 hours for emergencies.
• This position is considered 'excepted' during government furloughs.
