## Aviation Safety Inspector (Rotorcraft-Helicopter)

Join our team as an Aviation Safety Inspector specializing in Rotorcraft-Helicopter operations. This role focuses on ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence within the aviation sector.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and ensure the safety and compliance of rotorcraft-helicopter operations.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on rotorcraft-helicopter policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Review and evaluate training and certification programs specific to helicopters.
  • Report on aviation accidents, incidents, and violations.
### Essential Qualifications:
  • **Certificates & Ratings:**
* Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Rotorcraft-Helicopter) or Commercial Pilot Certificate (Rotorcraft-Helicopter) with Instrument-Helicopter rating. * Valid, unexpired Flight Instructor Certificate (Rotorcraft-Helicopter) with Instrument Helicopter rating. * *Required copies of certificates and ratings must be submitted for new FAA appointees or internal applicants not currently in this specific 1825 series role.*
  • **Flight Experience:**
* Minimum 1,500 total flight hours (Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command). * At least 1,000 hours specifically in helicopters. * Minimum 200 hours providing flight instruction in a helicopter. * At least 100 flight hours in helicopters (PIC/SIC) or Level D Helicopter Simulator within the last five (5) years.
  • **Specialized Experience:**
* Minimum one year of experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12 level in Federal Service, including: * Investigating rotorcraft-helicopter safety and compliance. * Providing technical guidance on policies and regulations. * Reviewing and evaluating training/certification programs.
  • **Regulatory Compliance:**
* Not more than two Federal aviation regulation violations in the last five (5) years. * Not more than two flying accidents involving pilot error in the last five (5) years.
  • **General Requirements:**
* Valid State driver's license. * Fluency in the English language. * No chemical dependencies or drug abuse interfering with job performance. * High school diploma or equivalent.

### Medical Standards (Rotorcraft-Helicopter):

  • Physically capable of performing duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Good distant vision in each eye (glasses/contact lenses permitted).
  • Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aid permitted).
  • No physical condition that would pose a hazard or interfere with flying as a passenger.
  • **For positions requiring aircraft operation:** Possess a valid second-class FAA medical certificate and pass recurrent medical examinations.
