Job Description

Summary

Join as an Aviation Safety Inspector (Airworthiness) to ensure aircraft maintenance safety, certification, and program compliance.

Join our team as an Aviation Safety Inspector (Airworthiness) to ensure the safety and compliance of aircraft maintenance programs.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Assist, conduct, or perform technical functions for aircraft certification activities (CFR Part 23 Normal Category Airplanes, multiengine turbojet aircraft, CFR Part 25 Transport Aircraft).
  • Support and oversee maintenance program activities for CFR Part 135, CFR Part 91 General Operation and Flight Rules, and CFR Part 121 air carrier/air operators.
  • *General Requirements:**
  • Valid State driver's license.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No more than two incidents of Federal aviation regulations violations in the last 5 years.
  • No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance.
  • *Medical Requirements:**
  • Physically able to perform duties safely and efficiently.
  • Good distant vision in each eye (glasses/contacts permitted).
  • Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aid permitted).
  • No physical condition that would pose a hazard or interfere with flying as a passenger.
  • **For positions requiring aircraft operation:** Possess a valid second-class FAA medical certificate and pass recurrent FAA medical examinations.
  • **For positions not requiring second-class medical:** Provide documentation from a board-certified physician certifying minimal medical requirements or undergo an individualized assessment if requirements are not met.
  • *Required Experience & Qualifications (within the last 3 years):**
  • **FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.**
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13, demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties successfully.
  • Experience involving the maintenance and repair of airframes, power plants, and aircraft systems with responsibility for certifying airworthiness.
  • Experience gained in a repair station, air carrier/airline repair facility, military repair facility, or local/state/Federal governmental agency.
  • **Specifics include:**
* **For Air Carrier Maintenance:** Experience with multi-engine aircraft over 12,500 pounds maximum certificated takeoff weight maintained under an airworthiness maintenance and inspection program. * **For General Aviation Maintenance:** Experience with aircraft 12,500 pounds or less maximum certificated takeoff weight.
