## Aviation Safety Inspector (Flight Oversight)
Join our team as an Aviation Safety Inspector, specializing in Flight Oversight. This crucial role involves applying extensive knowledge of aviation safety, federal regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance within the aviation sector. Please note, this position does *not* involve acting as a required flight crewmember or safety pilot.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Apply broad expertise in aviation safety, federal aviation laws, regulations, and policies.
- Perform technical functions related to certification activities for CFR Part 23 Normal Category Airplanes.
- Support CFR Part 135 air carriers/operators and CFR Part 91 General Operating and Flight Rules operations.
- Monitor and issue certificates to aviation organizations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide authoritative expert technical guidance and operational control to Flight Standards organizations and the industry.
- *General Requirements:**
- No more than two Title 14 CFR violations in the last five years.
- Valid State driver's license.
- Fluency in English.
- No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- *Medical Requirements:**
- Physically able to perform duties safely and efficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Good distance vision in each eye (glasses/contact lenses permitted).
- Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aid permitted).
- No physical conditions that would pose a hazard or interfere with occupying a flight deck observer's seat (jumpseat) or cabin passenger seat.
- *Specific Flight Oversight ASI Requirements:**
- Hold a valid or expired Flight Instructor Certificate with an aircraft category rating, or have instructor experience in an approved program (e.g., 14 CFR Part 121, 135, 141, 142, or Uniformed Services).
- Minimum 200 hours of flight instruction (in aircraft or approved flight simulation training device).
- Hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate or Commercial Pilot Certificate with an instrument-airplane rating.
- Three years of experience with an air carrier, commercial operator, air agency certificate organization, an organization that certified airmen, or an aircraft operating organization.
- Minimum 1,500 total flight hours.
- Possess airplane category and single-engine and multi-engine land (airplane) ratings.
- Not more than two pilot-error flying accidents in the last five years.
