Experienced Aviation Safety Inspector needed to ensure general aviation safety and regulatory compliance through certification and surveillance.

## Aviation Safety Inspector (General Aviation Operations)

Join our team as an Aviation Safety Inspector, ensuring compliance and safety within general aviation operations. This role involves critical oversight, certification, investigation, and compliance functions for air carriers and operators.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct certification, surveillance, and investigation activities.
  • Formulate compliance recommendations for operational activities, specifically for FAR Part 135 air carriers/air operators.
  • Perform various technical functions related to aviation safety standards.
### Required Qualifications:
  • **Specialized Experience:** At least one year of experience equivalent to the FV-H or GS/FG-12 level, assisting, conducting, or performing technical functions related to certification, surveillance, investigation, and compliance recommendations of operational activities on FAR Part 135 air carriers/operators. (Recency requirement waived for current FAA 1825 series employees).
  • **Flight Credentials:**
* Valid, unexpired Flight Instructor Certificate with single and multi-engine airplane and instrument airplane ratings. * Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument rating or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate. * Possession of single and multi-engine land airplane ratings.
  • **Flight Experience:**
* Minimum 1,500 total flight hours. * Minimum 100 flight hours within the last 3 years. * Minimum 200 hours of flight instruction given in an aircraft.
  • **Safety & Regulatory Compliance:**
* Not more than 2 pilot-error flying accidents in the last 5 years. * Not more than 2 separate incidents involving Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) violations in the last 5 years.
  • **General Requirements:**
* High School diploma or equivalent. * Fluency in the English language. * Valid State driver's license. * No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance.

### Medical Requirements:

  • **General Medical Fitness:**
* Good distant vision in each eye (corrective lenses permitted). * Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aid permitted). * No physical conditions that would pose a hazard or interfere with flying as a passenger in various aircraft.
  • **For Aircraft Operation Roles (Mandatory):**
* Possess a valid Second-Class FAA Medical Certificate. * Pass recurrent medical examinations as prescribed by the FAA.
  • **For Roles Not Requiring Second-Class Medical (If applicable):**
* Provide documentation from a board-certified physician certifying minimal medical requirements, or * Undergo an individualized assessment if requirements are not fully met to determine essential function performance.
