Summary

Seeking an Aviation Safety Inspector (Airworthiness) to ensure compliance and safety of avionics systems on large aircraft.

  • *Aviation Safety Inspector (Airworthiness) - Avionics Focus**
We are seeking a highly qualified Aviation Safety Inspector specializing in air carrier avionics. This role involves ensuring the safety and compliance of installed avionics systems on large aircraft, including investigation and reporting duties.

  • *General Qualifications:**
  • Valid State driver's license.
  • Fluency in English.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • No more than two Federal Aviation Regulation violations in the last 5 years.
  • No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance.
  • *Medical Requirements:**
  • Physically able to perform duties safely and efficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Good distant vision in each eye and ability to read typewritten characters (corrective lenses permitted).
  • Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aids permitted).
  • No physical conditions that pose a hazard or interfere with flying as a passenger in various aircraft.
  • **For positions requiring aircraft operation:**
* Possess a valid FAA second-class medical certificate. * Pass recurrent FAA medical examinations.
  • **For positions not requiring a second-class medical certificate (upon tentative selection):**
* Provide documentation from a board-certified physician certifying minimal medical requirements, or * Individuals not meeting minimums will receive an individualized assessment to determine essential function performance.

  • *Specialized Avionics Experience:**

Applicants for positions where work predominantly involves air carrier avionics must meet all of the following:

  • Experience involving the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of installed avionics systems on aircraft.
  • Avionics maintenance experience on aircraft with a maximum certificated takeoff weight exceeding 12,500 pounds.
  • Recent (within the last 3 years) aircraft avionics work experience (including supervision or auditing) in a:
* Repair station * Air carrier repair facility * Military repair facility * Local, state, or Federal governmental agency

  • *Required Experience Level:**
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H or FG/GS-12 grade level.
  • Specialized experience includes investigating and reporting on accidents, incidents, and violations.
