## Aviation Safety Inspector (Air Carrier Maintenance)

Join our team as an Aviation Safety Inspector specializing in Air Carrier Maintenance, where you will ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance within air carrier operations. This role involves critical oversight, evaluation, and enforcement to maintain airworthiness and regulatory adherence.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and decide on proposals to change authorized organizational programs.
  • Monitor, plan, or conduct comprehensive inspection programs.
  • Assure assigned organizations are properly organized, staffed, equipped, and conduct adequate training programs with acceptable record-keeping systems.
  • Verify facilities and procedures meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct enforcement investigations and prepare final reports with disposition recommendations.
### General Requirements for All Positions:
  • No more than two Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) violations in the last 5 years.
  • Valid State driver's license.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
### Medical Requirements:
  • Physically able to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Good distant vision in each eye; able to read typewritten characters (corrective lenses permitted).
  • Ability to hear the conversational voice (hearing aid permitted).
  • No physical condition that would cause hazard to self or others, or interfere with flying as a passenger in various aircraft.
### Specific Requirements for Air Carrier Maintenance:
  • **Experience:**
* One year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12 in the Federal Service, including relevant training. * Experience in the maintenance and repair of airframes, power plants, and aircraft systems, with responsibility for certifying airworthiness. * Maintenance experience with aircraft 12,500 pounds or more maximum certificated takeoff weight. * Aircraft maintenance experience within the last 3 years (recency waived for current FAA FG-1825 series employees). * Work experience in a repair station, air carrier/airline repair facility, military repair facility, or local/state/Federal governmental agency.
  • **Certifications:**
* FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
