## Aviation Safety Inspector (Flight Oversight) - FG-14
Join our team as an Aviation Safety Inspector specializing in Flight Oversight. This role focuses on applying extensive knowledge of aviation safety, federal regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance. You will conduct investigations, flight evaluations, and inspections, playing a critical role in maintaining aviation safety without acting as a required flight crew member.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Apply broad knowledge of the aviation industry, safety, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Oversee and integrate technical functions related to communication, navigation, surveillance, air traffic management, and national airspace.
- Conduct enforcement investigations, flight evaluations, and inspections.
- Prepare comprehensive final reports.
- **Note:** This position does not involve acting as a required crewmember or safety pilot during certification or flight operations.
- *General Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid State driver's license.
- Fluency in the English language.
- No more than two separate incidents involving Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations violations in the last five years.
- No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance.
- *Medical Qualifications:**
- Physically able to perform duties safely and efficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Good distance vision in each eye and ability to read typewritten characters (glasses/contacts permitted).
- Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aid permitted).
- No physical conditions that would create a hazard to self or others, or interfere with occupying flight deck/cabin seats in various aircraft.
- *Flight & Technical Qualifications:**
- Minimum 1,500 total flight hours.
- Must hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- At least one year of pilot experience in multi-engine aircraft with a maximum certificated takeoff weight exceeding 12,500 pounds.
- Three years of experience with an air carrier, commercial operator, air agency, or an organization operating aircraft.
- Not more than two flying accidents involving the applicant's pilot error during the last five years.
- *Specialized Experience (FG-14 Level):**
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 grade levels.
- This includes experience in: overseeing/implementing/integrating technical functions related to communication, navigation, surveillance, air traffic management, and national airspace activities; conducting enforcement investigations, flight evaluations, inspections, and preparing final reports.
