Summary

Ensure aviation safety and regulatory compliance by monitoring complex organizations as an experienced Airline Transport Pilot Inspector.

We are seeking a highly qualified Aviation Safety Inspector with a focus on Flight Oversight. This role involves monitoring and certifying complex aviation organizations, ensuring strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive pilot experience and a robust background in air carrier operations.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Monitor and issue certificates to large and complex aviation organizations.
  • Conduct comprehensive oversight to ensure accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness in meeting aviation safety requirements.
  • *Minimum Qualifications:**
  • *General Requirements:**
  • Not more than two separate incidents involving Federal Aviation Regulations violations in the last 5 years.
  • Valid State driver's license.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • *Medical Requirements:**
  • Good distant vision in each eye (glasses/contacts permitted) and ability to read typewritten materials without strain.
  • Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aid permitted).
  • No physical conditions posing a hazard to self or others, or interfering with the ability to fly as a passenger in various aircraft.
  • **Note:** A second-class medical certificate is *not* required for this specific Flight Oversight position.
  • *Specific Experience & Certifications (Air Carrier Flight Oversight):**
  • **Selective Placement Factor:** Must possess a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • Minimum 1,500 total flight hours.
  • At least one year of pilot experience in multi-engine aircraft exceeding 12,500 pounds maximum certificated takeoff weight.
  • Three years of experience working with an air carrier, commercial operator, air agency, an organization that certified individual airmen, or an organization that operated aircraft.
  • Within the three years of organizational experience, at least one year must be with an organization operating multi-engine aircraft exceeding 12,500 pounds maximum takeoff weight.
  • Not more than two flying accidents in the last five years where applicant's pilot error was involved.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H or FG/GS-12 grade level as an Aviation Safety Inspector, specifically involving monitoring and issuing certificates to complex aviation organizations.
