Experienced Performance Auditor sought to lead complex audits, analyze data, and present findings to management.
## Performance Auditor (GS-13) We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Performance Auditor to lead and execute complex audits, ensuring compliance and clear communication of findings. ### Core Responsibilities & Specialized Experience (GS-13 Level) * Lead and conduct complex performance audits adhering to GAGAS (Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards) or similar standards. * Develop comprehensive audit project plans, execute interviews and analyses, document results in working papers, and summarize findings into clear conclusions. * Independently compose, present, and professionally defend audit results to senior management, both verbally and in writing. * Provide coordination, coaching, problem-solving, and facilitate interpersonal communication within audit processes. * *Requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing these or related duties.* ### Basic Qualifications (Education & Experience) **Option 1: Education** * Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting. * OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration) that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in Accounting (up to 6 hours of Business Law may be included). **Option 2: Combination of Education & Experience** * At least 4 years of experience in accounting (or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training demonstrating professional accounting knowledge). * **AND** your background must include **ONE** of the following: * 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing courses (up to 6 hours of Business Law may be included). * A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certificate obtained via written examination. * Completion of degree requirements with substantial accounting or auditing coursework (e.g., 15 semester hours), combined with successful full-performance level work in accounting or auditing, and an evaluation by senior professionals confirming equivalent knowledge. ### Important Note * All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited.
