Auditor (Performance)

Join our team as a Performance Auditor, responsible for leading complex audits and presenting findings to senior management.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Lead and execute audit projects from planning through conclusion, including interviews, data analysis, and documentation.
• Develop, present, and defend audit results and recommendations to senior leadership, both verbally and in writing.
• Provide coordination, coaching, and facilitate effective communication within audit teams.
• Ensure all audits comply with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) or similar frameworks.
• *Qualifications:**
• *Basic Requirements:**
• **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration) with at least 24 semester hours in accounting (up to 6 hours of business law may be included).
• **or Combination of Experience & Education:** At least 4 years of professional accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
• **and one of the following:**

* 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing coursework (up to 6 hours of business law). * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification. * Completion of a degree with substantial accounting/auditing coursework (e.g., 15 semester hours), combined with successful full-performance level work in accounting, auditing, or related fields, and a demonstrated strong knowledge of accounting principles.

• *Specialized Experience (for GS-13 level equivalent):**
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, which includes:

* Leading audit projects, including the ability to write and present audit findings. * Independently composing, presenting, and defending audit results to senior management. * Experience providing coordination, coaching, problem-solving, and facilitating interpersonal communication. * Demonstrated experience conducting audits in accordance with GAGAS or similar standards, encompassing project planning, conducting interviews/analyses, documenting results in working papers, and summarizing conclusions.

• *Additional Information:**
• Creditable experience includes both paid and unpaid work, such as volunteer service.
