Provide expert legal advice on complex immigration law, policy development, and regulatory compliance for a federal agency.
We are seeking dedicated Attorney Advisors to provide expert legal guidance on complex immigration law and policy. This role involves in-depth legal analysis, drafting critical documents, and advising on significant policy initiatives within a federal agency.
- *Minimum Qualifications:**
- **Education:** Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LL.B. degree.
- **Licensure:** Active membership in the Bar of any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- *Specialized Experience Requirements:**
- *For the GS-13 Level (Minimum 2 years of professional legal experience):**
- Analyze complex legal questions and factual immigration issues, interpreting and applying immigration law.
- Draft policies, procedures, training, or other highly complex legal products involving new or amended regulations and legislation.
- Utilize effective oral, written, and negotiation skills to communicate legal assessments to administrative adjudicators or subject matter experts.
- Understand and act upon detailed instructions, demonstrating a commitment to organizational success.
- *For the GS-14 Level (Minimum 3 years of professional legal experience):**
- Evaluate and identify potential rulemaking or large-scale policy initiatives that promote agency objectives and address operational concerns.
- Conduct comprehensive legal reviews of draft regulations, policy directives, and operational concepts, providing substantive and procedural advice to ensure lawful mission execution.
- Provide sound recommendations on a wide range of immigration law and policy questions affecting agency operations, other government entities, industry, and the general public.
