Summary

Seeking Attorney Advisors (GS-13/14) for immigration law, requiring legal analysis, policy development, and communication expertise.

We are seeking dedicated Attorney Advisors (GS-13/14) to contribute to critical immigration law and policy work. This role requires expertise in legal analysis, policy development, and effective communication.

  • *Key Responsibilities (Dependent on Grade Level):**
  • *At the GS-13 Level:**
  • Analyze complex immigration legal questions and factual issues to interpret and apply immigration law.
  • Draft policies, procedures, training, and other complex legal work products, applying new or amended regulations and legislation.
  • Utilize strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills to convey assessments to adjudicators and subject matter experts.
  • *At the GS-14 Level (includes GS-13 responsibilities, plus):**
  • Evaluate and identify potential rulemaking or large-scale policy initiatives that align with agency objectives and address operational or legal impacts.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal reviews of draft regulations, policy directives, and operational concepts, providing substantive and procedural advice.
  • Offer sound recommendations on complex immigration law and policy issues affecting agency operations, other government entities, and the public.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • **Education:** LL.B. or J.D. degree from an accredited institution.
  • **Licensure:** Active member of the bar, licensed to practice law in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • *Required Experience:**
  • **For GS-13:** Minimum two (2) years of professional legal experience, demonstrating expertise in analyzing immigration law, drafting complex legal documents, and effective legal communication.
  • **For GS-14:** Minimum three (3) years of professional legal experience, including evaluating policy initiatives, conducting comprehensive regulatory reviews, and providing expert legal and policy recommendations.
