Seeking an Attorney-Adviser (Tax) - Special Counsel with a JD/LLB, bar membership, and 4+ years' progressive tax law experience.
## Attorney-Adviser (Tax) - Special Counsel
We are seeking a highly qualified Attorney-Adviser (Tax) - Special Counsel to provide expert legal guidance in federal tax matters. This position requires a strong background in tax law and professional legal experience.
### Minimum Qualifications:
- *Education:**
- Possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
- *Bar Membership:**
- Must be an active member in good standing of the bar of a U.S. State, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. Territory, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.
- *Experience (GS-15 Level):**
- 1 year of general professional legal experience.
- 3 years of professional legal tax experience.
- **Important Note:** Only experience gained *after* Bar admission may be credited as professional legal experience.
- *Education Substitution:**
- An LL.M. degree in a field relevant to the position (e.g., tax, GLS-related, FOIA/Disclosure) may substitute for the 1 year of general legal experience requirement.
- All qualifying experience, including paid and unpaid/volunteer work (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps), will be credited.
- For full credit, your resume must clearly state employment dates (month/year) and indicate the number of hours worked per week.
