Senior Attorney-Adviser sought to provide expert fiscal law counsel to the federal government, requiring 3+ years relevant experience.
## Attorney-Adviser (General), GS-15
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Attorney-Adviser to provide expert legal counsel on complex fiscal law matters to the federal government.
### Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and guidance on fiscal and appropriations law to federal agencies.
- Apply expert knowledge in appropriations law, with a strong preference for experience with defense working capital funds.
- Conduct advanced legal research, analyze options, identify risks, and develop creative solutions to intricate legal challenges.
- Communicate complex legal findings and recommendations effectively, both orally and in writing, to senior officials.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, adeptly navigating controversial and sensitive issues.
- **Education:** Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LLB from an accredited law school.
- **Bar Membership:** Active license and member in good standing with the bar of the highest court of a U.S. State, Commonwealth, Territory, or the District of Columbia. (Proof of good standing dated within 6 months of application required).
- **Experience:** Over 3 years of professional legal experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of a GS-15 level attorney.
- **Mandatory:** At least one year of relevant experience at the next lower federal grade (GS-14 equivalent) or significant experience advising the federal government on fiscal law matters.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of fiscal and appropriations law.
- Proven experience advising the federal government on fiscal law matters.
- Exceptional analytical abilities, including issue identification, legal research, and problem-solving.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Sound legal and business judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior officials.
- Knowledge of government ethics, including experience as an ethics counselor.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required for this Non-Critical Sensitive position.
