Attorney-Adviser (General)

We are seeking a highly qualified Attorney to provide expert legal advice and representation on federal employee relations and ethics matters. This role involves complex legal research, litigation, and ethical compliance to support agency decision-making.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on federal ethics and employment law issues, ensuring compliance.
• Provide legal advice to senior officials on employee relations and ethics to guide actions and mitigate risk.
• Represent the agency in administrative litigation before bodies such as the EEOC, MSPB, or DC Office of Administrative Hearings.
• Review financial disclosure reports and resolve conflicts of interest to uphold ethical standards.
• *Qualifications:**
• **Education:** Possess a law degree (LL.B or J.D.) from an ABA-accredited school or equivalent training.
• **Professional Certification:** Be a member in good standing of the bar of a U.S. state, territory, D.C., or Puerto Rico.
• *Specialized Experience Requirements (Post-J.D./LL.B. in federal employee relations and/or ethics law):**
• **GS-12:** Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.
• **GS-13:** Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.
• **GS-14:** Minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience.
• Experience includes both paid and unpaid work, such as volunteer service, which builds critical competencies and skills. Part-time experience will be credited proportionally.*
