- *Key Responsibilities:**
- **Customer Service Excellence:** Champion company service programs, resolve customer complaints, and promote a personalized, positive shopping experience.
- **Front-End Operations Management:** Direct and supervise all front-end activities, including monitoring customer traffic, coordinating service programs, maintaining cleanliness, and managing inventory/supplies.
- **Financial & Cash Management:** Oversee all cash flow and controls, including safe transactions, register tills, check approvals, refunds, and handling scan system emergencies/errors.
- **Team Leadership & Development:** Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising front-end and courtesy clerks. Provide recommendations for employment status changes and discipline.
- **Performance & Compliance:** Achieve budget goals for labor and expenses. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, safety standards, and dress/grooming guidelines.
- **Operational Support:** Perform checking duties and act as an overflow cashier when necessary, implementing suggestive selling techniques.
- *Qualifications & Skills:**
- **Leadership & Communication:** Strong leadership, team-building, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- **Customer Focus:** Proven ability to project a positive image and interact effectively with the public.
- **Operational Acumen:** In-depth understanding of front-end policies, procedures, and the ability to analyze and react to business activity.
- **Technical Proficiency:** Ability to operate and troubleshoot PCs and check stand equipment (printers, scales, scanners, cash registers, public announcement equipment).
- **Physical Requirements:** Ability to frequently lift and maneuver objects up to approximately 55 lbs, and to stand/walk for long periods, moving quickly as needed.
- **Managerial Skills:** Knowledge of interviewing techniques, basic employment law, computer software, and analytical ability for planning, scheduling, and making hiring/disciplinary decisions.
- **Financial Acumen:** Basic understanding of mathematics, weights, and measures for cash handling and inventory control.
- **Safety & Alertness:** Mental alertness to ensure safe and accurate work, with knowledge of product variety, perishability, safety, and sanitation procedures.
