Summary
Lead enterprise cybersecurity strategy and operations as an ACIO in the Senior Executive Service, driving innovation and governance.
Join the Senior Executive Service (SES) as an Assistant Chief Information Officer (ACIO) for Cybersecurity. This critical leadership role requires an executive to direct enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy, operations, and governance within a large, federated environment. You will be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring compliance with federal mandates, managing cybersecurity risk, and representing the Department on key cybersecurity issues, while fostering a high-performance, high-accountability culture.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide executive leadership in developing and executing an enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy, aligning it with mission objectives and balancing compliance with innovation.
- Design and lead robust governance structures that establish accountability, ensure federal mandate compliance, and manage cybersecurity risk across the enterprise.
- Oversee and manage comprehensive enterprise-wide cybersecurity operations, including resource allocation, contract management, staff supervision, incident response, monitoring, and strengthening enterprise resilience.
- Represent the Department externally on cybersecurity issues, drive innovation, adopt emerging technologies, and lead organizational transformation to enhance cybersecurity maturity.
- Direct organizational units, manage specific programs or projects, monitor progress toward organizational goals, supervise employees (at least 25% of the time), and exercise important policy-making or executive functions.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- *Experience:**
- Managerial experience typically at or above the GS-15 federal grade level or equivalent in the public or private sector.
- Proven ability to successfully fulfill responsibilities inherent in most Senior Executive Service (SES) positions.

- *Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs):**
- Executive leadership in developing and executing enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy, aligning cybersecurity with mission objectives, and influencing outcomes across a large, federated enterprise comparable to the U.S. Treasury.
- Executive-level experience in designing and leading governance structures that establish accountability, ensure compliance with federal mandates, and manage cybersecurity risk across an enterprise, demonstrating measurable governance impact.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing and managing enterprise-wide cybersecurity operations, including responsibility for resources, contracts, and staff, with measurable success in incident response, monitoring, compliance, and strengthening enterprise resilience.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in representing the Department externally on cybersecurity issues, driving innovation, and leading organizational transformation, engaging with stakeholders and adopting emerging technologies to improve enterprise cybersecurity maturity.
