Lead a federal tax law program as an Associate Chief Counsel, requiring executive leadership and expert legal knowledge.
## Associate Chief Counsel (EEE) - Senior Executive Service
This Senior Executive Service (SES) position seeks an accomplished legal professional to lead and manage a large-scale tax law program. You will provide expert legal guidance and strategic oversight for significant human and fiscal resources within the Office of Chief Counsel.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage all aspects of a substantial legal program, including planning, directing, budgeting, staffing, and evaluation.
- Provide comprehensive legal expertise in at least one of the following areas: employee benefits, exempt organizations, or employment tax, with general knowledge of the other two.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing legal team, fostering a culture of accountability and results.
- Strategically manage resources, drive efficiency, and ensure exceptional quality in legal work.
- Uphold the Constitution and the rule of law.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Education:** Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- **Bar Membership:** Active member in good standing of the bar of a U.S. State, Commonwealth, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
- **Executive Leadership:** Demonstrated progressively responsible executive leadership and supervisory experience, indicative of senior executive-level managerial capability (typically GS-15 equivalent in federal service or private sector). This includes supervising through subordinate managers, hiring, developing, and evaluating staff.
- **Senior Executive Service (SES) Core Qualifications (ECQs):** Your two-page resume must demonstrate experience in:

- *Desired Qualifications:**
- LL.M. in Taxation.
- Seven (7) years of professional legal tax experience.
- Thorough understanding of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) operations and the Office of Chief Counsel.
