Assistant Financial Clerk

This senior role requires extensive federal financial management and supervisory experience, focusing on complex fiscal activities within a government/Senate environment.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Manage and oversee federal financial operations, including budgeting, appropriations, and expenditure monitoring.
• Ensure timely and compliant disbursement of Senate funds using automated accounting systems.
• Analyze proposed legislation for operational and budget impacts, preparing cost estimates.
• Develop and implement financial policies, operational guidelines, and procedures.
• Lead and supervise staff, including performance evaluations and conflict resolution.
• Handle highly confidential financial information with discretion.
• Provide authoritative recommendations on system performance and financial management practices.
• *Minimum Qualifications:**
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of government financial management experience, with at least 6 years in a supervisory capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of federal budgeting, financial systems, government accounting, and appropriations processes (federal and/or Senate).
• Strong understanding of federal employment laws and Disbursing Office financial functions.
• Extensive Senate institutional knowledge is highly preferred.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to manage complex fiscal activities and handle projects with minimal supervision.
• *Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other:**
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
