Assistant Controller (Statutory Reporting)

Join a growing Life & Health Insurance provider as an Assistant Controller, a key role within their Finance and Accounting team. This hybrid position (3 days onsite in Alexandria, VA) focuses on ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial and regulatory reporting.

• *Key Responsibilities:**
• Oversee financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial and regulatory submissions.
• Maintain strict compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Support the financial close process and assist with external audits.
• Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity.
• *Qualifications:**
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
• Extensive experience in Life & Health Insurance accounting.
• Strong understanding and practical application of US GAAP and Statutory Accounting (SAP).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in financial reporting systems and advanced Excel.
