Summary
Experienced Archivist needed to manage, preserve, and provide access to analog and tape-based audiovisual collections.
We are seeking an experienced Archivist to manage and preserve valuable analog and tape-based audiovisual collections. This role requires a strong understanding of archival principles and a commitment to maintaining access to historical materials.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement sustainable collections management plans.
- Conduct assessment, preservation, and electronic description of archival materials.
- Process, acquire, and digitally reformat analog and tape-based audiovisual formats.
- Ensure continued access to managed audiovisual collections.
- *Qualifications:**
- *Education:**
- Bachelor's degree in Archival Science, or a Bachelor's with 18 semester hours in Archival Science, History, or Political Science/Government, plus 12 semester hours in related fields (e.g., American Civilization, Economics, Public Administration).
- or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
- or a Ph.D. or three years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a related field.
- *Experience:**
- **General Professional Experience:** Demonstrated professional experience in archival science or a directly related field (e.g., history), involving the collection, appraisal, analysis, or synthesis of historical or archival information. This includes experience as an archivist in various institutions or archival research.
- **Specialized Experience (Equivalent to GS-09 Federal Service):** At least one year of experience applying current archival principles, concepts, standards, and methodologies to:
