Summary

Licensed Architect GS-13 sought to lead complex design, construction, and renovation projects with expert technical oversight.

## Architect GS-13

We are seeking a highly qualified and licensed Architect GS-13 to serve as an expert in the design, construction, and renovation of diverse projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and clear communication.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an expert Architect for the design, construction, and renovation of projects.
  • Apply reference standards, policies, principles, and regulations.
  • Evaluate and analyze data, develop concepts, and recommend solutions for complex design issues.
  • Plan and monitor projects to ensure compliance with established practices, standards, and specifications.
  • Identify project requirements, including scope, time, cost, and quality.
  • Communicate technical information effectively, both orally and in writing.
### Required Qualifications:

  • *1. Basic Requirements (must meet one):**
  • **Degree in Architecture:** Or a related field including 60 semester hours in architecture/related disciplines, with at least:
* 30 semester hours in architectural design. * 6 semester hours each in structural technology, properties of materials/methods of construction, and environmental control systems.
  • **or Combination:** College-level education, training, and/or technical experience demonstrating a thorough knowledge of professional architectural principles, methods, and techniques, and their application to building design/construction/improvement.
  • **or Related Curriculum:** Degree in Architectural Engineering providing substantially equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • *2. Experience (if lacking degree):**
  • One year of experience in an architect's office or architectural work for each year short of graduation from an architecture program (e.g., 5 years of experience if no college degree).
  • *3. Selective Placement Factor (Mandatory):**
  • Possess and maintain an active license as a **Registered Architect** from a state or territory of the United States.
  • *4. Specialized Experience (GS-13 Level):**
  • At least one full year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (or equivalent in public/private sectors), demonstrating proficiency in *all* the following:
* Professional experience with reference standards, policies, principles, and regulations. * Expertise in the design, construction, and renovation of projects. * Evaluating and analyzing data, developing concepts, and recommending solutions for highly visible design issues. * Planning and monitoring projects to ensure compliance with practices, standards, and specifications. * Identifying project requirements (e.g., scope, time, cost, and quality). * Communicating technical information clearly, both orally and in writing.

  • Note: All experience must be clearly documented with dates (month/year) and hours worked per week to receive credit.*
