Job Description

Summary

Seeking an experienced attorney with 7+ years post-bar litigation/administrative law experience for an Appellate Immigration Judge position.

As an Appellate Immigration Judge (AIJ), you will apply legal expertise in formal hearings and appeals. This critical role demands a high level of competence, impartiality, and professionalism.

  • *Minimum Qualifications:**
  • **Education:** Possess an LL.B., J.D., or LL.M. degree.
  • **Licensure:** Must be an active member of the bar, duly licensed and authorized to practice law as an attorney in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • **Experience:** Seven (7) years of post-bar admission experience as a licensed attorney. This experience must involve preparing for, participating in, and/or appealing formal hearings or trials related to:
* **Litigation:** Cases where a complaint was filed with a court, or a charging document was issued by a court, grand jury, or appropriate military authority. * **Administrative Law:** Cases where a formal procedure was initiated by a governmental administrative body. * *Note:* Qualifying experience is calculated from the date of your first admission to the bar.

Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong combination of experience aligned with the high standards expected of an Appellate Immigration Judge.
